Buyers' trust and mistrust in e-commerce platforms: a synthesizing literature review

Electronic markets have grown substantially, and they are considered an effective form of retail in recent years. Despite such growth, lack physical transactions between different parties, as well users' concerns about their privacy security electronic commerce (e-commerce) platforms jeopardized trust. Thus, trust a key issue for reducing consumers' perceived risk the successful promotion e-commerce has motivated many researchers to study it. This paper created comprehensive up-to-date framework that synthesized previous studies literature conducted on environments. A systematic review method was selected achieve this aim. The initial search 17 top-ranked information systems journals conferences resulted 129 papers met inclusion criteria. Then these underwent in-depth examination determine how had been conceptualized Further, theoretical bases relation contexts used were investigated. concludes with implications practice critical agenda future research.
